Approved Court Orders

When life takes a difficult turn whether through addiction, legal trouble, or family crisis finding the right support can mean the difference between recovery and incarceration. Second Chance for Teens & Adults is a trusted, court-approved treatment and rehabilitation provider dedicated to helping teens and adults navigate the legal system while receiving the compassionate care they deserve.
With a proven track record of working alongside the Probation Department, Drug Courts, and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), our highly trained staff provides individualized, flexible plans that prioritize recovery, family stability, and lasting change.

Alternative Sentencing

Instead of going to jail, alternative sentencing allows eligible individuals to complete a Residential Program, PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program), or IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program). This means they can continue going to work, attending school, and being present for their families all while receiving the structured treatment they need to address the root causes of their behavior.

What Are Court-Ordered Programs?

Court-ordered programs are structured treatment and intervention services mandated by a judge as part of a legal sentence or as an alternative to incarceration. These programs allow individuals especially those facing drug-related or behavioral charges to receive professional help rather than serving time in jail.
At Second Chance for Teens & Adults, we offer a comprehensive suite of court-approved services designed to meet each client’s unique legal and personal needs:

Criminal Defense Support

Individuals charged with alcohol or drug-related crimes can attend rehab and receive appropriate treatment as part of their legal resolution. Each participant receives an individualized treatment plan tailored to their specific circumstances, giving them the best possible chance at a fresh start.

Drug Diversion – PC 1000 / Prop 36

Under California’s Proposition 36 (Penal Code Section 1000), individuals charged with nonviolent drug possession offenses may be eligible to enter a drug diversion program. Successful completion of this program can result in case dismissal — a genuine second chance to move forward without a criminal record.

Mental Health Diversion – PC 1001.36

Under Penal Code 1001.36, individuals accused of a crime who have a qualifying mental health condition may be eligible for mental health treatment in lieu of criminal prosecution. Successful program completion can lead to the sealing of arrest records and full dismissal of charges.

Batterers Intervention Program

For those accused or convicted of domestic violence, this evidence-based program provides both education and rehabilitation. Participants learn to identify and understand the root causes of violent behavior, develop accountability, and build healthier relationship patterns reducing the risk of future incidents.

Anger Management

Our anger management program helps individuals develop healthy coping mechanisms and emotional intelligence. Topics covered include stress management, problem-solving, understanding triggers, and building constructive communication skills all essential for long-term behavioral change.

Parenting Program

Parents involved with the court system often need support in strengthening their relationships with their children. Our parenting program teaches effective communication, healthy boundaries, and coping skills empowering parents to be fully present and engaged in their children’s lives.
